Can you guess who these 2 important colonial men are? One wrote the Declaration of Independence and one took a famous midnight ride to warn of a British invasion - "One if by land, two if by sea." Yep, you got it! Thomas Jefferson and Paul Revere. Love these two gents!
Peanut Man picked TJ for a biography last year. I made the wig, jacket with lace cuffs, a lace dickie, his black knickers, and he made his vinyl/brass buckle shoe covers! Peanut Man picked Mr. Revere for a similar project this year. I made the wig and vest, and fortunately we had the boots from a Halloween costume (Pirates of the Caribbean anyone?), and his hat is a souvenir from a trip to Valley Forge.
I had a tute for the wig ready to go, but it takes way toooo long. So basically, I just took one of his winter "skull caps," took it apart, traced it onto batting and added a bottom portion for the ponytail. On Jefferson, I rolled up 4 individual 2" x 12" pieces and stitched to the sides, and his ponytail is braided. On Revere, I cut fringes in the ponytail and bow-tied it. Attempted to dye it brownish. You get the idea!
