ansel adams repro print: half dome, autumn
This pic was taken around 7:30 this morning. (I didn't convert it to b&w - you can tell by the yellowing matte.) We have one Ansel Adams print for each season on this wall - and as often as I stare at them, I never noticed how the sun moves across this particular one. When I hung them, I intended for them to be "windows" looking out onto a vast, natural terrain - far removed from suburbia. But this morning, I think Mother Nature and the shadow of the window mullions were mocking me and my big ideas! Matt has severe wanderlust from his summers spent as a young'un, camping and hiking across the United States. I don't think these images placate him very much - instead they only enhance the urge to get out & go, go, go. (He's looking into cabins in the Poconos for Spring Break as we speak, which means this little missy best get some work done asap!)
