Now that I have a semi-decent camera, I cannot resist taking ultra close-ups of every petal, bug and bird in my backyard. (Hawk this morning!) It's so fascinating to me that the camera can capture what I can't see with my own naked eyes no matter how long I stare at these things. When I showed my husband the 20th image I snapped of a bumblebee's pollen sacs as it hovered over purple salvia, he said, "I can see how someone could get carried away with that." Someone meaning me.
Anyway, the clematis is bloomin' amazing!!!! Many days of saturating rain played a big part, no doubt. I go out and take 20 pics a day of the same 5 flowers. Thought it might serve as a nice color inspiration this week. I've taken a few of the colors and plopped them into a design I've been messing with so you can see a real application. These would not be my first choices, but I like them a lot! Definitely gets my creative brain firing in different directions as I do not tend toward purple - seeing the potential makes me say, "hmmmm."
