~ The calm before the production crew descended and took over 2 blocks. ~
We've definitely had our fair share of excitement around here these past 2 weeks! Yesterday, a PA-based grocery store chain (Giant) filmed a commercial on our street and on our front porch! I don't know how they narrowed it down to our town, but they scouted various streets/houses - and honed in on this one.
They've been running a series of ad spots featuring this energetic guy parading customers around the store, after they tune-in to the sound of his parade. The storyboards (above) showed a woman sitting on our porch (circled up top), reading a mag and drinking coffee. Her coffee starts to shake - and she peeks up to see the "Grill-a-bration" parade coming down the street!
Here comes the Grill-a-bration! Marching * waving * twirling his burger flipper.

The young whippersnapper above was a stand-in for the main guy - he did all sorts of backflips down the street.
Below:
Mummers from the Mummers Parade! They do appearances at store openings for this grocery chain. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd see Mummers marching down my lowly street!!
You are what you eat? I think this hamburger man has the best role of all - smile and wave, boys, smile and wave. No spanx or girdle required on that outfit. This only going to be a 30-second spot - how are they going to fit all this action in? Can't wait to see...
