Did somebody just mutter, "oh brother, here we go again?" Yep, indeedily-doo, I am going again! S a v o r i n g  t h e  m o m e n t . . .

As promised, here is the second feature Daisy Janie was lucky to be a part of in the Summer 2009 Sew Hip issue. (Part 1 is over yonder.) This is a nice article highlighting a few organic fabric designers who sell their own goods. I was honored to share glossy mag space with my friends Cloud9 and Harmony Art, in addition to Mod Green Pod and Green Fibres. Any press for organic fabric is good press - the more it's in the public eye, the more it becomes readily accepted without explanation. Glad to be part of the forward momentum!

Sew Hip featured my work twice in their Summer 2009 issue, which just arrived on my doorstep this past weekend! [ This post from last month was a preview for this showcase. ]

The first is a "fabric showcase" with a flattering layout of my fabrics and a thorough q & a about my design process. I am ecstatic & grateful to have been selected for such a wonderful highlight. It's never easy to back up from your work and view it objectively, but for a fleeting moment, I had that feeling when I opened to the pages....I enjoyed that tremendously. Thank you, Anna!

A friend gave this t-shirt to my husband - and I freakin' love it! I remember the first time I saw a tree being "built" in 2003 and was dumbfounded. I drove by everyday and would see more & more fake limbs added to this towering telephone pole and wondered what the hell it was supposed to be. Didn't have a cell phone then, and still use mine about 3 minutes out of the 700 I'm alloted each month. I'm fortunate that my DH feels the same way, and that my life situation doesn't require being tethered when I'm not home.

I sent some fabric scraps to Jen at Indie Fixx (my artsy neighbor at Art Star Philly in 2006) when she put the call out for a new feature called "She's Crafty" - and look what she made! These simple & sweet flower buds.

girls' getaway was fabulous!

Had a great time last week in Rehoboth Beach DE with 5 of my high school girlfriends! We were celebrating our 40th birthdays together, even tho only 1 of the bunch had turned 40 at that point!

Faces & addresses may change and life experiences may take us down different paths, but our friendships have remained strong and timeless. We don't see or even talk to each other regularly - yet there's such a comfortable, familiar connection that takes us right back to where we left off. Laughing, catching up, creating new memories - adding to the rich layers of our lives. I'm so lucky to know these women and very thankful we all kept each other in the fold!

Ladies, your raunchy, immature humor knows no bounds, and I'm still cracking up!

fabric sighting | small quilted handbags

These were sewn some time ago by Tia of Camp Follower Bags, using pieces of Audrey, Layla and Charlotte. I see Lara Cameron's Birch fabric in there, too. The sewing pattern is from Amy Karol.

Tia is a talented seamstress and quite prolific. She recently sewed this wonderful quilt for my friend Michelle, using Michelle's Dogwood fabrics.

Stephanie W. made a fun & functional craft tool roll-up in Daisy Janie Bloom fabric. She made it as a gift for her sister-in-law and filled it up with all sorts of crafting tool necessities. What a great idea!!!
