It's been an incredible week here for Daisy Janie! Weeks like this are a warm reminder that my hard work is truly worth it and that what I'm doing will take me where I want to go. We all need to feel fulfilled and we all need to pay the bills - when these two come together, it feeds off of itself and gives so much energy back to us to do more, more, more! I hope you experience this in some form or another, too. It's exalting for the creative spirit!
To sum up the week...
- I tracked down less expensive base goods for my organic sateen and organic canvas....and lowered prices on these across the board.
- Plans for my first wholesale fabric collection were finalized! The weaving on my organic base goods is set to begin, and 4-5 mos from now, voila, I will have beautiful fabric to sell! More info coming after Quilt Market.
- A repeat customer who is making eco-friendly pet products placed a large order. Since I have 2 doggies, it's a huge thrill to see my organic fabrics being used for something so dear to me. (I'll let you know when her website is ready!)
- Another repeat customer commissioned a 2nd surface design for use in her adorable baby carrier collection. Will also share when they're available on her website. Sooo cute!
- A shop owner who used my organic cotton/hemp blend canvas to refinish a gorgeous DR set sent pics that made me swoon. See here.
- And finally, the November Good Housekeeping mag arrived on my doorstep - with a special supplement called "Your Good House." The focus was on eco-friendly living - and my fabrics were featured!
Very, very, very exciting for me to see my designs featured with some of the latest and most unique green products and ideas out there! Thank you Good Housekeeping - I think I'll stick with my subscription for some time to come. Always chock full of great ideas!
The sleek recliner pictured below is from La-Z-Boy (who knew?) and is finished in an organic fabric. Not a lot of info on their website, but I really like the bones of this chair!
