In January, Daisy Janie was invited to be part of the Zenergy House Project in Studio City, CA. The design team at Neon Collaborative selected my fabrics for one of the bedrooms, and I worked with them to determine how best to use the fabrics in the space. Using Boxwood, Elsa and Georgia in Parkside on organic cotton sateen, I gladly made 3 pillows for the bed, and they had their seamstress make a sleek curtain for a long closet cable track. The walls were painted to match the chartreuse in the fabrics, which I've seen in a sneak peek pic - looks fantastic! I hope I'll have more pics to share soon.
"The ZENERGY House project was created by REAS (Residential Energy Assessment Services) as a guide to greening existing homes. The Zenergy house demonstrates how easily green design can be accomplished by using current proven technologies. It is an example of how you can create a healthier home; one that is more durable, more energy efficient, more respectful of the environment while improving your properties value in a precarious market. |
The Zenergy House opens tonight by invite only - Ed Begley, Jr. (actor and environmental activist) and Senator Fran Pavley (who represents Senate District 23 in CA and is an 'environmental crusader') will be there to assist in the festivities. Wish I could be there, too! The Zenergy House website has a lot of info and sponsor information, if you're considering green building or remodeling.
