You need something. You know exactly what you want and what you don't want. You know you could make it yourself, but you don't have a lot of time. You know it doesn't exist at any of the stores near you, yet you venture out anyway to take a look. You find some items similar to your idea, but it's really a bunch of over-the-top, expensive junk. You can't pull the trigger b/c you know you'll be mad at yourself for caving on your preferences. (For me, it's also a matter of its level of eco-friendliness: if it's not remotely eco-friendly AND it's not 100% what I want AND it's junky. No deal. I won't buy it.)
Your little voice has been humming in your ear all along, and now, after visiting 3 stores, it's a fierce buzz: "Go home and make it yourself.... You could've made this yourself during the time it took you to visit these stores.... How much more time are you going to waste....."
You decide to take matters into your own hands. Homeward-bound, you mentally map out what you have in your stash, what you'll need to cut out and how to sew everything to bring your 'necessity' to life.
An hour later, you're standing back admiring something you created - something pretty darn close to what you envisioned - and it's 100 times better than the over-priced, over-sized, over-accessorized, over-plasticized junk you could have bought. Happy day! Happy dance!

Hip Pouch Sew-Along
On Wednesday, June 29th, I'll present the list of materials you'll need to complete this simple hip pouch. On Wednesday, July 6th, we'll begin a step-by-step sew-along to complete the project. The sew-along will span over 3 days: July 6th, 7th & 8th. Anyone is welcome to participate!
