Some 'gorges' highlights from our Ithaca, NY trip this past week. Was it only a couple days ago that we were there? I am so out of sorts with this week! We walked and hiked every minute we could; along the way, we saw...
A small roadblock. (Cow pasture is part of this trail.)
A lot of steps (We sprinted them 2 atta time - couldn't resist).
A gnarly old, old tree who has to be this forest's secretkeeper.
A very sweet & sentimental surprise from that fella on the right.
No pics of all the spectacular food and drink we sampled from local markets and cafes. Bummer. We are foodies, and Ithaca is a treasure trove of unique eating spots featuring local, organically farmed ingredients. Eco-living is the norm in this green city, not the outlier. It comes at you from every direction, and we felt very comfortable there, which is pretty much the opposite of where we live now. If you venture to Ithaca, be sure to try Moosewood Restaurant (I've been using one of their cookbooks for 14 years), Macro Mamas (at the Tuesday farmers' market), Collegetown Bagels, Fatboy Bakery and Ithaca Brewery beers (I recommend Flower Power Ale). The Ithaca City Guide from Design*Sponge was a huge help, too!
We also ventured along the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail. Brought some yummy bottles 'o red home with us.
Back to work with me now.... have a great weekend! See you on Monday!
