Quilt Market 2012 was a great success, and it underscores (yet again) how much I love what I do! Buyers embraced both the aesthetic and organic nature of Daisy Janie's upcoming fabric collections, and that, my friends, is a good, good thing!
I showed 3 collections this market: New Leaf (January '13), Little Jack (early Spring '13) and Daisies 'N Such (late Spring '13). However, I was primarily featuring and selling the New Leaf collection, as you can see in my iphone pic of Daisy Janie's booth above. More than once, the jewel tones and boho designs of New Leaf stopped buyers in their tracks as they moseyed down the aisle, and then made a beeline for the DJ booth. The commissioned 'outfit artwork' by Stephanie Corfee (on the right) was also a big draw, and I'll share more about these fun mock-ups tomorrow. I'll also share more detailed shots of the pillows when the sun comes back out to play.
New Leaf is on schedule and expected in stores in 2 very short months! Pre-orders are welcome! If you have an approved wholesale account, you may order online in the usual manner. If you would like to become a Daisy Janie wholesale customer, please fill out our wholesale application.
The ramp-up to Quilt Market is nothing short of a nutty frenzy. I always feel like I'm on an episode of The Apprentice, sans the team, the cash, the walkie-talkies, the van, the finger pointing, the Donald and his bad hair, and the cameras. It's all a crazy blur, too. Once I get there and set-up, I finally take a gigantic exhale that everything (mostly) worked out. Selling for 3 days, meeting, talking and LISTENING to current, potential and new retailers and manufacturers is relaxing and downright wonderful!
Thank you to everyone who came to see the new fabrics and feel the new organic base cloth Daisy Janie is using! Another special *thank you* to my booth neighbors & dear friends Betz White and her husband for their company and assistance! Betz made her Quilt Market debut w/ a splashy & well-designed booth!
