If the Bee Blocks I've seen so far on the New Leaf Blog Hop are any indication, this design in the collection - Rhapsody Rasberry - is headed to the top of the charts! I am pretty partial to it myself.
Truth be told, the Raspberry colorway was an afterthought. When designing this one, I was working solely with the Lemon colorway and that was originally going to be the only colorway of this design. Having only 1 Rhapsody design, I thought, would allow it to pack a stylistic punch on its own while still connecting all the other prints.
There was a 6th design in the collection that I loved dearly, but it was like putting a square peg in a round hole. It just didn't fit - I was sad to cut it. The day I faced the music on that print, I eyedropped some other colors into the Rhapsody Lemon design and, p'shango! The Raspberry colorway was born! It sizzled right off my screen! It brought a new vibe to the collection, and I knew it was a keeper.
I have thought so many times about sharing specific bits of inspiration with you where my designs are concerned. Some are literal, some are not. The Rhapsody design has an interesting influence. Somebody tell me to get on that!
