the last of the magnetic messages for 2011.

Thought I better sneak the rest of these magnetic messages into one big heap to make sure I make it before 2011 comes to a close. Most of the phrases were added to the calendar within the first month, and reading each new one elicited a good laugh from all of us.

There's a lot of good sense in the seemingly non-sensical! I'm trying to convince myself of that today in a big way as my kiddo goes under the knife today for surgery. I was thinking last night how crazy it is that a fall 13 years ago off of a garden scooter ultimately came to this. It's all very round-about and multi-layered, but that's what it boils down to. Wish him luck - wish us luck! I won't be around much the next few days so have a spectacular week!! xo

Not much posting this week, but much, much, much getting done around here for Quilt Market, and I don't even have fabric yet! This week, baby - the fabric is a-comin'! Hot diggity dog!

M is crossing off a bucket list item this weekend - excited to accompany him on this mission! That man inspires me in ways I can't begin to express. Just put your head down and go! He's a big believer in, "You can have what you want or the reasons why not." Although I did put in a small request to begin alternating between bucket and f*** it lists after this biggie is complete... to bring back a little levity & spontaneity with the important, planned stuff!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I have some 'o the Irish in me from my Grandma, who bestowed her lovely red locks upon me as well as a passion for working with my hands. And tho they are tremendous gifts, it's up to me to maintain and make the most of them - I try my very best everyday! (Seems silly to talk about hair that way... but I went down that path and couldn't turn around!)

I created this "17" image once when the winner of a giveaway was the 17th person - but realized I was seriously procrastinating so I never did anything at all with it! Nice and colorful for soon-to-be Spring, though. Supposed to be 72 and sunny here tomorrow. Can. Not. Wait!!

Which one do you prefer? The actual statement or the edited version?

It's been an atypically long winter here in the southeastern corner of Pennsylvania. BUT, lately I am feeling an extra spring in my step for the first time in weeks. Although it's still chilleeto outside, I'm certain my newfound happy bounce is due to winter lifting in tiny ways everyday: the birds are chirping in the morning, the daylight hours are longer, the pretty snowdrops have emerged, the air feels like the first days of high school track practice, more people are out walking around the neighborhood, the squirrels are rebuilding their nests - all these little, little things that have triggered my "Spring Just Ahead" warning system! Bring it, baby!!

Since I didn't have time to produce & print a 2011 calendar (like 2009 and 2010), I opted to buy a magnetic poetry calendar*. Keeps us on-schedule and provides daily opportunities to be creatively absurd with the English language.

I'll be peppering my posts with these when I have way too much to do and my scalaway assistants are sleeping on the job. Which means you could be seeing these everyday for a month. Kidding..... (maybe).
